I bought an ASUS DVD-burner. Awsome! It's a clone of the Pioneer and I
was convinced to buy it after reading the review on Tom's Hardware

Only $139.99 at OEM Express(a short walk from my apartment) and a spindle of 50 DVD-Rs only $45.99.

I've burned off two fan-made Morning Musume DVDs I've had sitting on my hard-drive for awhile. Very cool fan-made animated menus on the second disc.
I used DVD Shrink to fit two movies onto one DVD-R and I must say I'm very impressed with the quality and speed.
In less than two hours I had two movies shrunk down to the size of one DVD-R.
The quality is still damn good too!
All play great on my Samsung progressive-scan machine.
I've also burned a few DVD-ROM discs with MPEGs, AVIs and my pictures(10 500 and counting) with no problems.
It takes about 14 minutes and 30 seconds to burn a full DVD-R. I haven't tried burning a CD-R yet.
My Octanews account was activated a few days ago. I have to wait until Thursday before I can post which sucks.
Octanews is great though. Excellent completion. Even better than Easynews. Retention is about 7 days and downloading headers doesn't count towards your byte allocation. |
