Contemplating encouraging the posting of anime BT links in aba... (also posted in abmad and #abmad):

aba's load has been dropping precipitously lately, hence I'm wondering
about encouraging the posting of anime BT links in aba (more lax
charter then abma and it sits outside the abm hierarchy anyway). With
more arguments (and threats) being incurred by places like mircx, a
Usenet solution particular to the anime community may be in order.

Open to discussion....

Personally, I wouldn't mind torrents posted there (or abma for that matter). They are small files so I can't imagine any bandwidth argument would make sense.

I would generally download directly from usenet, but if parts were all broken or expired, then it would save me from having to go hunt down a torrent...

Maybe this will be the death knell of Usenet Wink.

PS - what's the hubbub about mircx? It's the second time I've heard of some issue with torrents there...

Mircx.com doesn't seem to be hosting their torrents anymore, either =/

Hehe... no *death knell* xo, just a suppliment. And who knows if it will take -- been putting some of today's new BT's in aba, using the PP2K syntex "[BT] :: $F" with no text, thus the attachment defines the post. Seems simple and quick -- though whether its worth even that effort remains to be seen.

Hey yeah, thanks for the Kaleido Star .torrents. That's one of those series that doesn't get much love on Usenet and I had missed a bunch.

Speaking of which - anyone catch Gensou Maden Saiyuki #42 from SpA? After some long lull, they released a bunch in quick succession, apparently, and I missed #42 Sad

I suppose I should post this in the requests.

I don't mind the posting of anime BT links in ABA.. But personally, I think it makes more sense to just post these files onto usenet in the traditional manner. With usenet, all the bandwidth load ends up with the premium server / ISP of the user rather than with multiple people.
