The only program I know that converts RM to AVI or MPEG1 is EO Video. It's very simple, but if you have a corrupted RM or an error even in the stream, it wont work. It takes forever to convert too. Best way would be just to get the episodes again in avi format. Shouldn't be too difficult nowadays, since a lot are done DVD. Better yet, buy the DVDs! |

Tinra is an open source RM->AVI converter. It might skip over errors (don't know), but it takes fecking forever. |

Yeah, but at least it liberates the data into a slightly more open format. Twenty years from now, who's going to have a RealMedia decoder lying around? That will even work on the computer of twenty years from now? |

For those of you who still wish to try and convert, there has been made a directshow codec for real media by gabest, the creator of vobsub and media player classic. Go here to check the thread and to get the link for the filter. I don't think it's possible to get audio, though, you might be able to decode the audio in graphedit, but I'm not sure how. I'm not too knowledgable about that program.
Incedentally, RV9 is quite good for anime using EHQ codec. |
