I see that there is some bitching about us here again. You guys do not own the NG's, I think we already discussed this with you. I am keeping my posting crew to do reasonable amounts (2 eps a day), unless we are doing a movie or someone fucks up. I think this is perfectly reasonable, and if you dont like it you can take it up with me, dont message my posters. I am not changing the way were doing things, so quit bitching it wont do you again good. |

2 eps a day is perfectly reasonable-- who's been complaining to your posters about it? I'll give 'em a knock in the head... |

Ugh, yeah, I remember seeing Oni's thread on ABA. While animeusenet.org shows that he's posted a decent amount of stuff (48 posts), he's only been posting since February, and probably only just now learned that sudden unprovoked outburts like that usually aren't well-received.
In defense of the regulars/old-timers, I'd like to point out that no regulars replied in support of his random all-caps preemptive-complaint-to-everybody type of post. Most of the regulars and old-timers do support posting limits (and their replies to Oni's thread are in support of posting limits), and the generally agreed-upon limits are roughly two medium-to-high-bitrate episodes per day. Two eps per day is perfectly reasonable, IMNSHO.
If somebody bitches to you or your posters about posting two eps per day, send them my way (melchior@mtrs.org), or send them to the FAQ (http://abma.x-maru.org/faq/annotated/posting.php). The FAQ indicates a limit of 400MB, and it's not like anybody's got a foot to stand on (complaints-wise) if you've posted two 233MB eps in a day and gone slightly over the limit (and I should note that it's not a hard-limit, but rather a generally-agreed-upon-limit-to-maximize-everybody's-benefit).
As you pointed out, we (the regulars and old-timers) don't own or run the groups, but we try to keep some semblance of order so that we don't turn into the gong-show that the porn/warez groups are.
And incidentally, regarding Oni, I don't think he'll see your message on this board-- given that he's never posted a message on this board, he probably doesn't read it much at all either... |

Actually, he does, and I think his little rant in ABA yesterday was a direct result of his reaction to another thread on this subject here on this BB.
I responded to his action in ABA. |

I can't say I particularly noticed what Oni was complaining about with regard to D-A's posts -- I certainly haven't had any issues with them for quite a while. Maybe he was worrying about the number of them as a whole, regardless of poster, but he'd have to answer that. When it comes to flooding issues, I never really pay any attention to the subbing/rip group myself; if I ever happen to suggest to someone that they reduce the volume of their posting (which I've had occasion to do ), it's strictly on an individual poster basis.
And, personally, I've greatly appreciated the efforts of the folks from D-A.

Wooo sounds almost like a bad premonition.
I fearfully envision a future where a group will just use a bunch of sockpuppets and does a whole series repost in one day. |
