Thanks for the info Kai-Jinn & deoch.
BT is out for me since I'm behind 2 nat firewall/gateways. I have control over my own for forwarding but none over my isp's so...
ABPM eh? Yet another group I should watch but don't (swamped as it is). I think I remember checking out a few really nice high quality images from the Lain manga there once a long time ago (though maybe it was ABPA).
Hmmm... Under 6000 headers on load up. Guess I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks.
Added a couple more quick impressions to my above post. |

And more to the point, where can I get the full-size original image? |

I noticed 4 versions of Samurai Champloo come through recently and found this at a board inc referenced earlier:
http://www.anime-planet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11420&sid=07abfa2bd8b7ae952aab10fe30d638a3
The verdict seems to heavily favor af-f's encode (no surprise- they are an 'established' group). So if you, like me, are always wondering which to grab, you might find the above interesting.
As an aside, the reviewer is AWESOME. It's amazing how well spoken and articulate s/he is, in both English (read the review) and Japanese (dissection of the nuances in translation).
By the way, I did a quick scan of the first ep and it looks like it's a lot of fun!

I tend to put more weight on the translation, as even nuances can change the overall feel of a good series, hence Voldenuit's "I think Kraze have a slightly (just slightly) better translation than AF-F..." put me on the A-Kraze side of the fence.
Edited to add from Noodie in #abmad who watched all 4 current versions:
[05/25 10:34] <[Noodie]> well, anikraze wins because of superior translation, thats all I can say
[05/25 10:35] <[Noodie]> their TL just makes more sense
[05/25 10:37] <[Noodie]> dont feel like giving an entire review ;p
