I am using my local shawnews and it kinda sucks since it times out a lot.
What do people on @Shaw use?
My news IP is: 24.69.255.206
Seems like Shaw cutoff all the @Home ones I used to frequent :( |

As far as timeouts go, I've had nothing but timeouts with the @home servers, and now the Shaw servers that I'm using. They're fast, but the connections get dropped a little too frequently.
As a result, I use Agent to keep track of messages that've been posted, and I use NewsShark for downloading (www.wmhsoft.com), although recently I've started using XNews to download yEnc binaries.
The Shaw newsservers that I know of:
shawnews.vc.shawcable.net
shawnews.cg.shawcable.net
shawnews.wp.shawcable.net
news.shawcable.com (last night it wasn't working)
Good luck! |

There's also shawnews.ed.shawcable.net, but I think it's actually an alias of the Calgary one since in my headers it gives the Calgary one. However, that's the one Shaw "says" to use for Edmonton and Red Deer. *shrugs* |
