|
|
Greets! New poster here, and after reading the FAQ and not wanting to impose, here is an 'intent to post' for your approval or disapproval... also let me know if these have already been posted.
Fake - 60m Movie, E-Sub DIVX DVD RIP
Gravitation TV - 14 episodes, E-Sub DIVX DVD RIP
Note on Gravitation - HK DVD subs are awful, and we are re-subbing. Episodes to be released on an estimate of 1 per week, with new subs.
Note of Fake - English dub version will also be posted to alt.binaries.erotica.multimedia.yaoi
Question about faq hentai section: both the above can be considered yaoi. There is no hardcore or nudity in either series. The primary plotline of gravitation is, however, a m/m relationship. Personally, I don't think a gay themed relationship automatically makes something pornographic any more than your usual boy/girl relationship interests in regular anime. (Example... relationship between Shinji and Final Angel in Evangalion was not pornographic in my opinion) But my intention is not to offend, and if my opinion is not the majority, I will withhold these posts if content is considered inappropriate for a.b.m.a.
About Yaoi: there is an existing, however very dead, yaoi newsgroup. alt.binaries.erotica.anime.yaoi. My future rips/fansubs/posts to this group will also have a secondary intention of educating anime fans to the existance of this newsgroup, and promoting it's use for yaoi-ish anime.
Kindest Regards,

Yay!! Finally there's someone who supports yaoi!! Actually, I wouldn't call these yaoi, since you said that there's no nudity or any mature content. Please post them!! Will you be posting to ABA or ABMA? I've seen Gravitation & it's such a cute story!! But I thought that there are 13 eps and a 2-ep OAV (separate from each other)?? Anyway, I'd love to see FAKE. Thank you for the posts!! |

With regards to Gravitation, the BakaMX fansubs were posted about a year ago -- video quality very so-so (but I can't recall if I hammered them down from the original post). As for its content, gay themes really have nothing to do with the *no hentiai* restriction and have never been considered a problem in aba/abma. Sounds like an excelent candidate for posting.
I just looked up a review on Fake, not really being familiar with much more then the title (I don't believe it has ever been posted):
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/3932/fake.html
Heh. Like the reviewer, I had assumed that it really wouldn't be to my taste, but it actually sounds pretty entertaining. A quote: "...there was some initial discomfort when I first watched Fake, but that passed quickly. I found myself wanting Dee and Ryo to get together (no, not in that way), despising everyone and everything that interrupted their chances to tell each other how they really feel. These are two characters who deserve to be together..." As usual, it seems that it's good story telling that matters...

Thanks for the response! I didn't really think that these would be a problem based on the no Hentai rule, but I have only been around the groups for a few weeks, so better safe than sorry.
My mistake! There is 13 episodes to the Gravitation TV series. I have the OAV as well, but only with Japanese audio and Chinese subs. I've got a friend in Malaysia who will do Chinese to English translation from the subs, but I'm unsure what the timeframe will be on that.
Fake is fun, unfortunatly it's too short to let them flesh out all elements of the plotline. As a result, most of it is direct, simple and predictable. Still, enjoyable to watch.
From what I'm told, there is plenty of hard and soft animated yaoi out there, it's just very difficult to obtain! I'm hoping stimulating the yaoi group will bring some of it out of the woodwork =) I'd try to get more Hong Kong DVDs, but I don't even know the titles of the material. Maybe next year we can manage a visit to yaoicon in SanFrancisco...
I was planning on posting to ABMA, but I can do either. Which would be better? |

"Fake" is cute... although it's been what feels like a few years since I've watched that one on commercial vhs... Now the DVD is out!! Gotta rewatch to see if it's another must buy~
As for the Gravitation OVA episodes, Chocofansubs (CF) or Ochiba did fansub those already... the RM (with rt, smi script) and an AVI version of the OVA's are out and about... thought those must have been posted already by now, too... CF, I believe, does Jap --> English... BakaMX is korean/jap --> English.
Perimus, if you're interested in posting the CF version of the OVA's, I can probably manage to pass them to you to post? Just let me know if you're interested. Your source is probably better than the CF encode (HKDVD?), but yours might be with Chinese hardsubs? |

With fansubs out there already, I wonder if it's worth the work to do them over again? But, they claerly aren't very easy to get your hands on! I'm happy to post the OVA copies you have, drop me an <a href="mailto:perimus@perimus.com">email</a> or an ICQ@2911374 !
The editor I have for the subs from the gravitation tv series is dragging his feet quite a bit also... he just walks around like a zombie and mumbles warcraft 3, warcraft 3... maybe after the beta test is closed and before he can buy the retail version I will be able to get some work out of him on it... otherwise I may do the posts with the original horible HK subs in vobsub .sub files instead.
If you know the names of any other yaoi-ish shows or series, let me know! I'll try to get my hands on as much of it in DVD format as possible |

Yami no Matsuei is one... have yet to finish watching it ^^ But it seems yaoi-ish enough... and the art is beautiful, too. That's all I can really think of that isn't already out in the US.
Out in the US already, are as follows:
- Earthian
- Weiss Kruez (yaoi or not? can't recall... been so long ) (Knight Cross? or Knight smthing for US title ^^
- Tokyo Babylon (not sure, too)
Those are the only titles I can think up off the top of my head.
Probably many CLAMP titles.
Oh!! Also, can't be sure if Mirage of Blaze might turn out to be yaoi-ish, too! Only watched through the first 2 or 3 episodes... As for hardcore yaoi, since I'm really not into anything hardcore, I wouldn't know. ^^;;
As for Gravitation OVA's, will leave you information here? I haven't installed ICQ since maybe 2 years ago... I'll also send the same information via email in a bit after posting this message up. |

Thanx a bunch for FAKE & Gravitation~~
I've seen Yami no Matsuei & it was wonderful!! I have the 1st 4 books of the manga (raw) but I can't read them But my friend's translating!!
As for Weiss Kreuz (translates to White Cross; I =think= the English title is Knight Hunters), there is no yaoi at all; it's only in the fans' imagination (unfortunately!).
I've read the Tokyo Babylon manga & seen the 1st ep of the anime. Yes there is shounen-ai. The story (love/hate... whatever it is between those 2) continues in X, but they aren't the main characters anymore The art in X is excellent because of all the details they put in (hair! Subaru-Sama! All those *Stars*!!). The style of the TB anime reminds me of Patlabour for some reason.... I've only seen 1 ep, so I don't think that's enough for me to judge. CCS (also by CLAMP) has shounen-ai in it as well.
I think someone already posted MoB some time ago & I missed it I'll be on vacation until school starts again, so I'll be missing more than 2 months of anime on IRC & Usenet Hopefully I won't miss much. |

Only ever seen the Yami no Matsuei Book 1 Chapter 1 scanlation around.
=(
And yep, the US title for that is "Knight Hunters".
Oh! And does Angel Sanctuary have shounen-ai? Seems to... Another one I'll have to sit down and watch sometime--not necessarily for the shounen-ai, of course =P. |

Actually, my friends & I are working on the scanlation for Yami no Matsuei! I'm hoping to get Volume 1 done before school starts, so i'm busy scanning.
I'm not so sure about Angel Sanctuary. I'm reading the manga & I've seen the OAV (3 eps was =not= enough to tell the whole story!). If there is shounen-ai, then they didn't do a good job showing it; otherwise, they're just friends I guess. |

The previous fansub of Gravitation OVA has been posted! Thanks for the positive feedback, and thanks for providing me with these to post. Also, thanks for posting Yami no Matsuei! I'd love to see more of that series, if anybody has it available.
TV series is coming, looks like I don't have anybody to re-edit the horrible HK subs after all. If anybody is interested in doing the editing work (it's time consuming) let me know. Otherwise, I'm going to post it with the original subs, but in .SRT and .SUB format rather than rendering them onto the video.
Look for those sometime in the next week!
Kind Regards,
Perimus! |
