I was planning to buy: http://www.discountanimedvd.com/dvd_detail.asp?dvdno=2028
But the recent discussion in the newsgroups about the quality of AJ and Hong Kong subs made me wonder if these disks might have bad subs on them. Anyone know? |

I can't tell you this one specifically, but I'll say that I've purchased my fair share of Region3 DVDs in addition to the Region Free pirates of a couple animes. Bottom line from me is the subs blow big flying pepper flavored chunks. Region 3 is a bit better maybe, but overall when the subs suck, it thoroughly detracts from the enjoyment of something, and then even good quality video can't save it. R3's tend to have pretty good mastering btw, as opposed to pirate copies in which some are obviously ripped from TV. I'd say all of them, but some do a better job of hiding that fact. |

Hmm... didn't know that was out. I'll have to get down to my local rental place and see if they have them. They do rent some HK dvds -- more all the time.
