The Incredible Tide, a book published in 1970, and long since out of print.
I found it as a PDF file on the internet last night. The book's about a hundred pages long. I managed to find all of one copy for sale-- on Amazon zShops, it was selling for US$250. (ouch!). I also found a copy in the Vancouver Public Library's main branch, for anybody in the Lower Mainland (www.vpl.ca).
The story's a little different from FBC, and not nearly as in-depth as FBc, but it was an excellent read-- the first couple chapters were a little dull, but from there I was glued to my monitor... (ebooks aren't going to make it until "epaper" or something like that becomes available-- monitors really just don't cut it). Notable differences: Conan and Lana are around 17 years old, they knew each other before the disaster, and the disaster had occurred only 5 years earlier. Monsley = Dr. Manski.
Shall I post it to Usenet? |
