Don`t mean to be rude but have you tried Newsbin or a similar utility, it knocks the socks off agent for downloading binaries. |

I mainly use Agent to keep track of recent posts and for text-messages on Usenet. Downloads I handle with another program (Newsshark-- simple, but it works really well). How are Newsbin's text messaging abilities? |

Feh. Newsbin left me unimpressed, back in the old Pre-Agent-yENC-Support days. I like a newsreader that does binary AND text newsgroups for my mileage.
