If you're thinking to yourself, "Hey, I think I might watch Lupin III-Return of Pycal because I really like the Lupin series and its lack of cheezy computer graphics, and the storylines never get all trippy as if the writers had taken some acid, and the production values are always pretty good and it doesn't look like some low-budget Saturday morning fare, and I've yet to find myself left utterly confused when I watch Lupin"...
Well, then, don't watch it.

Lupin III: First Contact, on the other hand, was quite fun and recommended.

The whole thing about Pycal with his weird magic tricks (emphasis on the tricks) is weird enough without the whole music-to-kill-or-heal stuff. Yeah, that was weird...
First Contact, on the other hand, was excellent. |

*hehe* I enjoyed both movies. First Contact was really good. It was sort of a cross between the new lupin look and the old story. I guess it's like the revamped comic book heroes. Where they take the original story and change a little bit as well as change the character designs a bit too. (I watched it on my mom's PC. It's too high of quality, so I had a lot of skipping and async because of it. No post processing either. I didn't get to enjoy it like I wanted. *snif*) Pycal on the other hand, was really a lot like the original lupin series. Goofy and sort of a weird idea for a plot. A bit of real mysticism as well as magic tricks. I thought it was a pretty good story in relation to the original. |
