I'm watching Ai Yori Aoshi right now and noticed yet another character drawn with a fang (Tina).
Anyone have any ideas on the significance of the fang? I wish I could remember some other characters I've seen drawn with one, but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about - the tiny, usually single, fang that appears when the mouth is opened. It seems more a female character thing, but I seem to recall on of the Fushigi Yuugi guys had it as well (the one with the fan, I'm too lazy to go look it up right now).

(oh, and AYA is rather derivative and formulaic. While I don't regret having watched it, it's been somewhat disappointing as it had some potential in storylines that were never pursued. Maybe the series will be saved in the last 3 eps) |

I thought it had something to do with referencing the character to a cat. Playful, lazy, sometimes fierce, and always trying to get at something they want.
I could be wrong though, but that was what I gathered from all the characters that I have seen in animes with fangs. |

Maybe the new TV series (enishi) scheduled for broadcast in the autumn will also develop more of the current storylines. It's set a year after the end of season 1, so at least some things should be different this time round... |

I'm pretty sure the fang is supposed to indicate a catlike mood - friskiness, playfulness with a bit of a cruel streak, etc. |
